About Eric Parton
Drummer. Educator. Lifelong Student of the Kit.
Where It All Started
Eric Parton's love of drumming started in school band, where the rhythm section called to him early. His older brother — a drummer ten years his senior — handed him his first real lessons and set the foundation that would shape a lifetime behind the kit.
Growing up in a musical household with a father who taught high school music, Eric was surrounded by the language of music from day one. His early influences — Buddy Rich's jaw-dropping precision, Keith Moon's explosive energy, and John Bonham's thunderous groove — gave him a wide palette to draw from and a deep respect for the craft.
Over 30 years of playing in Pacific Northwest bands, Eric has shared stages with notable acts and built a reputation as a versatile, feel-first drummer who can lock in a groove as easily as he can tear up a fill.
Teaching Philosophy
Eric has been teaching drums for over five years, including a dedicated stint in Centralia, WA. His approach is simple: meet every student where they are and build real skills that transfer to any style of music.
Fundamentals First
Whether you're picking up sticks for the first time or looking to sharpen your technique, every great drummer starts with solid fundamentals — snare rudiments, proper grip, and reading music.
Rhythm & Groove
From basic beats to complex rhythms and fills, Eric teaches you to feel the music — not just play the notes. Groove, pocket, and timing are at the heart of every lesson.
